Counselling and Psychotherapy in Bedford, Luton or Cambridgeshire.
Why seek counselling?
Psychotherapy is particularly helpful for people who want to understand themselves better; why they feel, think and behave in the way they do. For most of us there are times in our life which are particularly challenging and talking to someone outside the family or friends can be helpful. It is normal to sometimes feel anxious, depressed, angry, helpless or sad but when these feelings become difficult to manage or feel overwhelming seeking support is an important step in self care and a sign of already changing something for yourself.
I see people from diverse backgrounds with issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, lack of confidence, relationship difficulties, painful life events and negative experiences as well as things which are harder to define such as a sense of frustration, not knowing what you really want or feeling something unresolved within yourself .
I also offer EMDR (Eye movement, desensitisation and reprocessing) which can help the impact of distressing experiences and memories including trauma.
The decision to start therapy is understandably difficult and requires some element of hope and courage and a desire to want to change something.
You are welcome to 'phone or email me any questions before deciding to arrange an initial consultation.

I work in Bedford and offer a confidential setting in which to talk about whatever issues may be troubling you.
I will listen carefully to you and think about what you are saying; this can create a sense of space and quiet which may feel strange initially; different from having a conversation with a friend. However, being listened to by a thoughtful and curious therapist can bring relief, help you to talk about issues more openly and honestly and think about things differently; ultimately increasing your ability to lead a more fulfilling life.
My Background is working as a speech and Language therapist for many years in the NHS. I am also an experienced psychotherapist, training and gaining an MA in London, initially working there and then setting up my counselling and psychotherapy practice in Bedford in 2014. I see people with a range of issues and from diverse backgrounds. I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of supporting you to understand yourself better and to lead a more satisfying life.
